Today marks the end of my first official weekend spent living in Geneva, Switzerland. Even typing that seems surreal. I still don't think that it has fully hit me that I moved to a different country. I think part of the reason for this is that Geneva, while, yes, expensive in places, feels a lot like Colorado. The people here - so far - are so incredibly kind, which is a beautiful surprise. And, while my French is a bit rusty, it is nice to feel like I can communicate with people, even if it's not always perfect - the only way to get better is with continuous practice, making plenty of mistakes, and laughing at yourself.
While I am waiting on housing me and my little gato, Milo are staying at a budget hotel - cheaper than Airbnb funnily enough. I have been exploring Geneva and a bit outside of the city. Before my mom left to return to Colorado, we had a day to explore a couple little towns. And, of course, I dragged her to the village where Audrey Hepburn lived.
Audrey Hepburn has always been a role model of mine, so it was sweet to be able to walk the same streets as she once did...and creepily stalk the house where she once lived #sorrynotsorry. More than that, it was a fun little excursion with my mom; I can't wait for when she comes back to visit me, I will know more beautiful spots to show her. Also, I cannot wait to see winter in Switzerland - can you believe that I am saying that? I am such a sunshine-loving-person, but I have this image of a Christmas/Sound of Music mashup when it comes to being here in the winter. So, called me excited! That's all for now folks, but here are some lovely pictures and some music I've been listening to lately.
Here are some of my favourite songs of this week:
Days in the Sun - Ziggy Alberts
Man in the Sixties - Balue
Let's Go - Passenger
That Don't Impress Me Much - Shania Twain
Paradise - George Ezra
Rocket Man - Elton John
